
Space Coast RESCUE Project
The Space Coast RESCUE (REsilience Solutions for Climate, Urbanization, and Environment) Project was created by Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) in partnership with Little Growers Inc and the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne). It is a climate resilience project, aimed at engaging the community in formulating adaptation strategies.

Community Weather Stations
LGI has worked with 11 homeowners in the South Melbourne community - connecting them with Florida Tech researchers to co-install weather stations in their backyard. This has allowed the area to go from a weather data desert to a weather data oasis.

Citizen Science
With the help of these 11 volunteer citizen scientists, Florida Tech researchers are able to analyze drainage and runoff patterns, identify temperature hotspots, assess heat stress, and inform flood risk management.
