Growing Minds, Green Spaces, and Future Leaders

At Little Growers Inc., we believe in planting seeds—not just in the soil, but in the hearts and minds of our youth. The Youth Garden Club is a fun, hands-on experience where children and teens ages 5–18 (and even little sprouts starting at age 3 with a parent present) come together to learn, grow, and connect with the earth.

Our club brings young people into the garden to explore food, science, sustainability, and the joy of growing something with their own two hands. From harvesting fresh herbs to building compost bins, our students become stewards of the land and champions for community wellness.

🌻 When We Grow:

Garden Club meets twice a month — on the 1st and 3rd Fridays from 4:45 PM to 5:45 PM during the following seasons:
🗓️ September – December
🗓️ January – May

We do not meet during June, July, or August, as our summer programming shifts to other seasonal initiatives like our Summer Earn & Learn program.

🌿 Our Community Garden Projects

Little Growers has built and cultivated the following community garden projects:

  • Eddie Lee Taylor, Sr. Community Center
    📍 3316 S. Monroe Street, Melbourne, FL 32901
    In partnership with Club Esteem, this garden serves as a hub for youth engagement and community enrichment.

  • Heritage Park at Crane Creek
    📍 2550 Grant Street, Melbourne, FL 32901
    Collaborating with Heritage Park Apartment residents, this garden fosters community involvement and sustainable living practices.

  • Stone Magnet Middle School Native Plant Prairie
    📍 1101 E. University Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32901
    In partnership with Florida Institute of Technology's Space Coast RESCUE team, this Department of Education-funded project focuses on establishing a native plant prairie to promote environmental education and biodiversity.

🌳 Crane Creek Restoration Project Food Forest Demonstration Site

We’re currently on pause as we develop our exciting Crane Creek Restoration Project Food Forest Demonstration Site at 823 Brothers Ave, Melbourne, FL 32901. While Garden Club classes are temporarily on hold during construction, we’re working hard to build a vibrant, welcoming space where young growers can thrive.

Stay tuned for reopening dates, community garden build days, and volunteer opportunities to help us bring this vision to life!

🧒 Who Can Join:

  • Ages 5–18 welcome

  • Children ages 3–4 may participate with a parent or guardian present

No prior gardening experience needed—just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to dig in!

The Youth Garden Club fosters:

  • Environmental awareness and hands-on science learning

  • Healthy eating habits and food system knowledge

  • Confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills

  • A love for nature and care for community
