Introduction To Permaculture:
Urban Agriculture & Sustainability
Do you want to learn about how to grow food? and feed the butterflies?Learn how to design farms and gardens like Mother Nature would.
Beyond Organic Design Inc. & Little Growers Inc. introduces children to urban agriculture and permaculture design. Students acquire knowledge and tools to participate in the beginning design of Little Growers Inc. Community Garden, currently located in a “food desert” community near Crane Creek in Melbourne, Florida. Our introduction will cover the design process, interview the stakeholders, assessing soil conditions, companion planting, and plants for pollinators. Other topics covered include applied technology and bioremediation (ways to repair our communities soil and air quality, improving residents quality of life). This initial workshop will be the start of a longer series. Our final goal is to transform the community garden into an urban sustainability demonstration site and outdoor classroom.
